Project Overview

Professional Pioneers designed and delivered the King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority booth at the sixteenth session of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP16) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The international conference focused on land protection and restoration, combating desertification, and advancing environmental sustainability. These themes aligned with the Authority’s work in managing and developing the Royal Reserve and conserving its natural resources. The pavilion provided a dedicated space to present the Authority and its responsibilities to an international audience of environmental organizations, experts, and specialists.

The project began with the development of a spatial and visual concept reflecting the Authority’s institutional identity and environmental mission. Professional Pioneers designed and delivered the content presentation areas, informational elements, visitor reception points, and stakeholder engagement spaces. The Authority’s identity was integrated throughout the architectural and visual components to create a consistent presentation across the pavilion.

A central consideration in the design was translating the environmental identity and purpose of the Royal Reserve into a professional institutional booth. Rather than using environmental references as decoration alone, the visual direction connected the pavilion’s identity with its content and intended messages. Topics related to natural resource conservation, biodiversity, and protected-area management were placed at the center of the visitor experience, while the Authority’s institutional presence remained clear within the international exhibition environment.

The spatial arrangement also balanced information display with visitor access and communication. Reception and engagement areas were integrated with the content zones to support a natural flow through the booth. This helped visitors move from an introduction to the Authority and the Royal Reserve toward a broader understanding of its environmental responsibilities and work in natural resource management.
